Last wk was not a very good wk for us! To sum up the last few wks, Hadley has had A LOT of diarrhea, bad butt rashes, has been getting over a very bad cold, and is getting 6 new teeth popping through her gums.... We assumed the diarrhea was from the teething....
Anyways, last wk Wed. Andy and I slipped out to do some Christmas shopping and left the girls with my parents. At this point Hadley has been having a mild fever for 1 1/2 days now again we assumed it was teething. Wed. night we got a call from my parents saying Hadley was just horrible and we should come back. We came right back and took her temperature. It was 104.4. Andy called the nurse and I immediately gave her Tylenol and comforted her. A bit of info i left out is Wednesday morning, Hadley had more diarrhea, but it was black and black as can be. Giving all this info to the nurse, we directed us to get her to the Children's Hospital ER right away. So, we did and ended up staying there from 9:30 pm till 1:30 am! Hadley had many tests done... catheters, x-rays, etc. The biggest scare was when the nurse said she was sending the ortho surgeons down to evaluate Hadley. They were worried about a "bubble" that was showing up on her x-ray that was thought to be a bubble of air outside her intestines which would require immediate surgery. SURGERY?! WHAT? We were a bit confused and not about to let them take our baby off to surgery without more opinions. So they got Hadley some more x-rays done and 4 doctors and 2 radiologists later, they had realized the bubble of air was the hole in Hadley cast on her back! Crazy, huh? They were ready to do surgery because of a hole in Hadley cast!!!! Scary! So we left with the diagnosis of the "flu" AKA they didn't have a clue! The next day Hadley had a 105.9 fever! We took her into the dr and thankfully they found out she had an ear infection! All this because of an ear infection. Could be! So she's been on antibiotics and is on her way to feeling better!
But it was rather a stressful and crazy wk! Thank God it is just an ear infection!
