Our Trip To Chicago; All about Hadley

We got back from Chicago yesterday and overall, all went pretty well. It was an interesting, fun, yet emotional trip.

We left early Sunday and met Andy's parents in kenosha where we went to the Jelly Belly Factory for a tour and some treats. The girls really enjoyed that!

Then we all headed to Chicago and checked into our hotel and got situated.

After getting situated, we headed to Monkey Island; A huge indoor inflatable playground. We had a blast there, especially Mia and Hadley. Hadley never wanted to leave. She was really enjoying her freedom!

After tons of play time, we got some dinner, then headed over to Baker's Square to get some specialty pie and Hadley got to enjoy getting messy with some ice cream!

Then we headed back to the hotel for baths and relax time.

Around 8pm while watching TV, the electricity went out. There was a huge flash out out window, which drew our attention. Andy and his parents found entertainment watching outside at all the chaos that was going on because of it. Cops were directing traffic, owners of stores were coming to their stores since there security alarms wern't on anymore, etc. You could say they were looking for some action. There were a couple emergency lights on so at least we wern't sitting in the pitch black!
After sitting around for a bit, we got bored and went to bed. Andy and I got up around 4:30 to shower and get ready and still there was no electricity! Therefore we didn't get to shower because there was no hot water and we didn't get coffee either :)Interesting how much we need electricity for every day use!
It was an interesting night. Still no idea why we didn't have electricity....

Anyways, we got to the hospital and things were moving along very quickly. There were 6 castings happening that day! Hadley was still first since she is still youngest. We ended up being done around 11. She did great overall, but was not happy at all to have a new cast on. I felt so bad for her to see how miserable she was.

The doctor talked to us and had such great news. He said out of cast, Hadley is at 24 degrees. She went down 5 degrees since last cast. Amazing news! In cast she is basically 0 degrees! The other part of the good news he said was, once he gets Hadley under 20 degrees, he will cast her one more time and then try bracing her and see if she'll hold. That's completely different than what he said last time. Last time he said once she's under 20, he'll cast her 2 or 3 more times then brace her. Maybe he was just amazed at her progress this time! So, lets hope he sticks to what he said this time! That could be a possibility of only needing 2 or 3 more casts, which could mean a cast free summer of 2010! We are so happy! Praise God that He completely has his hand on Hadley in this situation!

Hadley has had a hard time adjusting to this cast, but seems to be adjusting a little better today. She just really has a hard time sitting or picking things up. The cast this time is a lot lower making it a bit more challenging for her. Also a lot more challenging with diapers too. So far she's leaked in every diaper she's been in and I've been changing them very frequent in order to prevent that! The cast is very tight too making it difficult to tuck the diaper. We might just have to try pampers cruisers out this time until she grows a bit in the cast.
