A beautiful day
Obey
I started a new charecter trait program that a friend told me about. So far its awesome!
Obey was our charecter trait we worked on last wk for school. It's one of those traits we could work on every week :)
The kids loved it.
Monday we made pictures and learned verses. Everytime they obeyed without complaint, hesitation, or attitude, I gave them a sticker. At the end of the week they got a special treat of how many stickers they had.

Tuesday we made a special 'O'bey dinner. The kids made placemats that said different things about obeying and at dinner we took turns reading them. We had O braided sandwich, O cucumbers, O banana wheels, and O jello fingers. They got all dressed up and even did my hair in a thousand barrettes! They had a lot of fun planning this!

Wendnesday we read out of the bible about Lot's wife who disobeyed and turned into a pillar of salt followed by some questions.
Thursday we were supposed to play some games, but that didn't happen.... maybe this wk.
And Friday we reviewed what we learned about obeying and they were rewarded for their stickers!

It goes in spurts
I wish I could say I'm always this productive, but if I did, I'd be lying! But I might as well enjoy it while I have it....
Andy and I have been attempting to eat more GMO free foods. It's been a bit confusing, frustrating, but fun too! I'll be honest, were very far from being all gmo free, but we'll do what we can! My high hopes were it would help with energy levels and moods with a few of us ;)
With this attempt, I find myself struggling most with snack foods. So, little by little, I've been attempting new snack recipes. I attempted homemade fruit snacks, but those were gross. Here are homemade pretzels from the bread maker and homemade graham crackers! Both a yummy success! Except for the fact, the graham crackers are going way too fast! ;)
Last night I made black bean and salmon burgers with sweet potato fries! Amazing! Even the kids loved the burgers! I wish the fries were more crunchy though!
Also on the list to try is homemade fruit roll up/ fruit strips, toritillas in the bread maker, tortilla chips, gronola bars, and bagels. We'll see when I lost my energy for this and what actually gets done! ;)
I'm having a lot of fun experimenting! I really do enjoy baking and cooking. However, I should probally start focusing on the mountain of laundry and toys all over the house a little more! :o

Getting away
Sometimes spotaneous getaways are the best! Our family has been bound up in stress lately! We all kinda just needed a break! We had planned on going on vacation this summer once the girls were out of school, but that wasn't going to work out this yr.... So, we decided to head to the Dells last min for spring break! We tried out the Atlantis, but it was disgusting! We went out and bought lysol wipes and cleaning supplies and cleaned our room, but after staying one night, we couldn't stay another! So, we went to a new hotel, which was awesome! It had 2 awesome little water parks for the kids! They had a blast! We all came back feeling more relaxed! :D Sometimes it just helps to get away!
