A wk of cast freedom
Hadley enjoyed her wk of being free from her cast! We did lots of baths, went swimming a few times, did some painting, ate the messiest foods we could find, and painted a piece at the pottery place in Cedarburg. It's been a great wk! I wasn't able to hold her in the beginning bc of my incision being so new, but I did get to towards the end and enjoyed it. We did lots of snuggling and rocking too! It's so much nicer snuggling with a soft tiny squishy body, then a hard cast that pokes into your shoulders! ;)

The little man is here!
And out little man is born! September 18th, 2009 at 10:24 Am. He weighs 8 lbs exactly and is 20 in. long. Everything went very well and now were adjusting to our new family of 5! :)

Mia rides the school bus
Just wanted to share some pics of Mia's first time riding the school bus. It wasnt planned to be a normal thing for her to do so, but with the baby, I think it might help out a lot not having to tote him out in the winter. She absolutely loved it and wants to do it again, so thats good! I thought I'd have her ride the bus to test it out today before she has to take it when were in the hospital on Monday. It's all she talks about now! :) Hadley on the other hand, was VERY upset about it. She screamed and tried getting out the door and said, I want Mianna! It was so sad. Some day... too soon!

Baby boy's nursery
Only 8 more days till he arrives!(Sept. 18th) Thankfully, Baby boy Rorabeck's nursery is all ready for him! Andy and I had a lot of fun making it! We had a date night and went to Micheal's and got all sorts of fun projects for his walls, then we spent the last few wks painting it all and putting them up. Everything is in the pictures except the first letter of his name.... You'll have to see that one after he's born :)

It's been just about 3 months now in our new home and I finally was able to find time to post pics! I did my best as to get the before and after's, however, I did not have my camera the first day or so of buying the new home, so the pictures are taken already when the work had already been started, but you get the idea of all the work that was done. :)

Mia's 1st day of school
Last Wednesday, Mianna had her first day of school(4K). She was so excited. She couldn't stop talking about it all summer!
The day came and she was ready! Andy took a half day so he could share the experience of our baby going to school for the 1st time.
I was a little nervous since Mia is so shy, but at the same time, she's involved in Sunday school, Children's church, AWANA, and MOPS(last year) so she's had a lot of experience in a "classroom" setting.
We got there and took her to hang her Princess backpack up on her hook. She didn't want to do it at first as she clung to us, but she did it. Then we got her in the classroom and showed her around a bit. There were only about 6 kids there bc they split them up and half started Tuesday and half Wednesday so it wasn't so overwhelming for their first day. Andy took her to get her name tag and at that point, i thought she was going to cry. She had a look of fear all over her face. But just seconds later, she snapped out of it and got really excited and started kissing and hugging all of us... a million times by the time we actually got out the door! Then the teacher took her and she went and sat with her new friends and started playing. She did amazing. Better than I thought.....
Hadley on the other hand, was a different story. She screamed once we left that classroom, "Mianna! I want Mianna!" She sobbed and cried all the way home not understanding why her sister left her and didn't take her with. Hadley and Mia are so close and are always playing together. I'm glad that time is nap time, or Hadley would be really lost those 3 hours! So we got her home, napped her, and by the time she got up, it was time to pick Mia up. We packed a little snack so she could give it to her and I can't even tell you how excited she was to pick her up and give her that snack!
Mianna did great at her first day of school! To tell you the truth, she didn't tell us much, but I think maybe it was so overwhelming and there was just so much to tell us, she didn't know where to start! :) All she ever talks about is going outside in the sandbox, which really is a treat for Mia since she really never gets to do that because of Hadley. And so far so good... except her coming home yesterday with a fever and headache! My only fear is all the sickness that passes along easy in schools, especially with the new baby soon, but that's where we leave it in God's hands and trust him with it all!

Prayer Request
We are needing some prayer if you think about us! Hadley's 8th cast is scheduled for Oct. 6th. She would be able to get her cast off Sept. 25th or 28th. This would mean we would have a 1 1/2 wk old baby when she is cast free and 2 1/2 wk old baby when she gets casted.
I asked the nurse if we happen to have problems with baby or recovery, if we could reschedule, however, the Dr is gone the month of September, will be back for a wk(when her cast is scheduled) and will be gone again in October! So, if it didnt work out on that date, we really don't have any other options!
I am extremely emotional about all this! Mostly because I will still be recovering when Hadley is free from her cast. I wont be able to swim with her! I just am afraid I will be so limited and wont be able to enjoy her like I have been when that cast is off! Not only will I be recovering, but trying to get the hang of having a 3rd child and nursing!
I worry about when she does have her 8th cast put on that I will not be able to be there as much as she needs me. She is such a mommy's girl! I want to be there 100% for her! I fear that this will be really hard!
Adjusting to a new child is usually challenging already! Now we have a casting in the mix.
Please pray that it goes ok! That I have a good and fast recovery so I can meet Hadley's needs too! That this baby will cooperate through all this! And that Hadley wont feel that her special time is being taken away because of a new baby! That adjusting to a 3rd child wont be as rough as it was for us adjusting to a 2nd! That Andy and I stick together as a team through all the stress of no sleep, a new child, and everything going on! And that God be our guidance and comfort at this time.
Andy's brother will also be home at this time from Iraq for only 2 wks! I don't know how were going to make all this work. It just seems like everything is piling up at the same time!
And we can't forget about Mianna! Her birthday is Oct. 19th and I still want to plan a special bday for her too! I'm hoping to get a lot of those plans squared away before all of this happens so I wont have to worry about it so much then!
I just need to trust God and his timing with all of this. God's timing is always perfect! It is just really hard to sit back and just trust that he knows how it will all work out.
Please forgive me, I am an emotional wreck about all of this. Doesn't help I am in my last month of pregnancy; my hormones are already messed up!

Potty Trained
Hadley is 100% potty trained! Well, not 100% - she still has to wear a diaper to bed, but other than that, she's in big girl underwear. And she made the decision to do that all on her own. I have to say, she was the easiest kid to potty train, I didnt do anything! We started by running around the house naked and if we did that, she would alway go on the potty, but when we left the house, we had to wear a diaper and she still used it. But then one day, about 2 wks ago she decided she was only going to wear big girl underwear and diapers were for babies, so we tried it and from that day on, she's only been wearing big girl underwear and she's very proud! And thankfully we've only had about 2-3 accidents! I'd say thats pretty good for a beginner :) Go Hadley :) :) :)
